    I am missing Shadow work and Smocking.In smocking,i want guidance to the exact material required to shrink and smock to get the required size.If sample for frock and a housecoat is explained it will be of help.

    Can any body give basic idea of doing smocking. I had done 15 years ago and kind of forgot. Its for a blouse back.

    Can any body give basic idea of doing smocking with dots(not after pleats). I had done 15 years ago and kind of forgot. Its for a blouse back.

    I have a book on smocking. You get paper with dots which you just iron on the paper and then do the gathers. I shall look for the address of the book and let you know.

    Dear Rekha,
    If you dont get the dots to be ironed. then use a ruler and a pen make dots for every 1 cm. then gather the clothes.
    For length it must be 3 X actual required length. For example. if you need 10 cms of the smocked cloth then you should make it for 30 cms of the cloth.
    I think this should be enough alongwith lakshmi's guidance. All the best

    wow thats a cool method. i did with the dot paper before. i find it very difficult.. it takes a long time.. this is kinda interesting.
