    dear asha,

u can buy a plain sari --gorjette, chiffon or any type of silk.

buy beads , matching 2 the sari.
u can do simple hand embroidery stiches along with the beads 2 make the design catchy.

i'm interested in hand emr: n bead work n i've posted some of my works.just c them.

B'lre is the place frm where NEEDLE N THREAD , [ coats - anchor] is published.

i've heard that v can get beads n all at shops in commercial street.

    happy 2 help u.

    regards raji.

    Hi,

U can get beads from the shops in Chickpet. They have a huge collection and their rates are comparable.

In my opinion creape silk and silk sarees will be good for doing bead work.

    Regards
    Karthi

    Hi Asha,

What Raji and Karthi says is ok. But in my suggestion as a begginer better you choose garden saree plain. Compare to other garden saree is little bit convenient. When you are doing hand embroidery and bead work little grib is there in garden saree. this is my opinion.

But dont try in silk sarees and grape sarees. Silk is costly. grape is silky finish. so difficult to do beginers

    HI

U can get beads from Chickpet, however u can also try Raja Market, which is at Avenue Road. This market has alot of craft items. As most of friends say i also do agree that crepe or silk material will be most suitable for bead work.

bead work when done on sarees the saree will be heavy so better to select simple designs.it will be easy to finish the work than the thread work.

As Rama said for beginers it will be better to try with garden sarees, they will be good and easy to work with.

    hi
the beads are available in raja market. u can also try in some craft shop near by to your house.
i suggest u do it on a crape or tussar silk saree.
always do a small design in the inner most part of the saree. then u wil know the tension of the thread of the thread to be maintained and also the colour combinations. then u do on the pallu etc. many times i have felt that i shoyuld have done the work on a better quality saree so the life will be longer.
