hello vijikrishnan garu and lilly ...what vasthra has posted is badla work... wht i have posted are the finished works of badla...its not french knots..its in practice since many years badla(nakki) is a very thin very flexible metalic strips approximately about 2mm wide..usually silver in color..but few bright colours are also available.. special needle is there for this work... just like the procedure pic stitch like cross stitch n cut the strips on the wrong side of the fabric and press it...same shud be done all along the design .. i do have the saree but its very light colored..so u cont get any idea from tht.. n also i dont have any samples of badla..if i find any i vl post the procedure for sure...
Hi Lakshmi, Thank u so much for your help, even though i can't understand telugu from the picture i made out. I tried in the same way but long ago, but the finish is not perfect could b due to the way u bring the string out. Will try again. What is the purpose of two holes in the needle? Any way thanks a lot taking pain in putting the picture.
