My school going daughter likes almonds with its skin on ... She won't eat if it's soaked and skin taken off.. Is it a problem if she eats just like that ?? Does any body knows it?

I read somewhere (scientific journal) that the skin of almond hinders the digestion and absorption of the nutrients in almond. Firstly, the brown peel of almonds contains tannin which inhibits nutrient absorption. Also all nuts contain phytic acid, and soaking/sprouting is only way to neutralize its effects. Thats why older generation preferred soaked and sprouted or fermented nuts and lentils. You can google more.

Better soak over night and peal off next day morning and give , as she is young its hard to digest.

Yes I too read that eating almonds with skin hinder body's absorption of its nutrients. If your kid is not having soaked and skinned almonds, try blending it into fruit milkshakes, chopped into salads, IR even ground it into the chutney with idli, dosa etc. So many options are there
