    Hi ILs,

I have seen dry mint leaves in the Indian Grocery. I want to know whether we can use it in pulavs, chutneys and wherever the recipe calls for pudhina/mint.

If some one has used it, Pls suggest.

I have used it but only as a garnish. I made chutney with it & it was on little bitter side.

I used to garnish for pulav, fried rice, especially for chicken or any biryani...it makes your dish more tastes.

Also used to make chutney often as my kid like so much.

just a tip: Use 1 tsp of urad daal while grinding mint in mixie this will reduce the bitterness, also add 2-3 drops of lime or tamarind water depends on your saltiness.

Fried dry mint leaves were served in some buffet. It did serve as an alternative to pappad.

I make a spicy mint powder for sprinkling on soups, eating with rice.

you can add it to coconut chutney...

you can sprinkle on cucumber raita.. just add a chilli, grind mint and coconut together and add to curd..makes a side dish for roti.

you can use in paratha.. chappati...

U can even add to gravies like aloo matter (1 spoon) for taste

best idea would be use it in regular dough and make Methi theplas out of it

you can even add to maida dough to make methi flavour matris

I feel the dry mint gives a odd flavour unlike the fresh mint.
