Drinking water

Hi,

We used to drink water from the apartment sink tap as it tasted very good. But recently taste changed and its not drinkable and I came to know not to drink tap water directly. So we are getting water from outside water filter stores in 5 gallons water bottles. Is there any alternate way to get the water purified ?

I wanted to know what methods others are using for this. please help.
