First of all Let me get an Advance Bail.. if there is any mistakes in my post please do forgive.. because am half drooping.. then you may think why couldn't i wait till tomorrow.. its because i would lose my spirit to write if i wait till then!

There is something that is being haunting me for some time.:idontgetit: I am neither a 6 Ft tall person nor I weigh 300lbs. I sometimes feel that if a person who is 5 Ft tall and weigh equally walk beside me, they would definitely feel some kind of superiority. I don’t understand why. Are they supposed to feel that way? Or is it just my kind of conception…
Today I was driving back after my school and I had to take an exit (probably people in US would understand this better!) and there was another exit coming to the same road... Actually the theory is people who come FROM an Exit has to yield for the vehicle who are already in the highway (he he… am not teaching any concepts here... I know it is confusing!)… Ok let me come to the point. Here is one Truck (a huge one) coming into my road and not yielding to me.. I had to slow down and yield for him. I felt really bad and humiliated… But I was forgiving and therefore forgot about him... after sometime I had to take an exit again... This time I had to yield and go and again a truck was going in the road I was about to merge... AGAIN… I had to yield for him… This really kicked me off..:bang. Why is it always me who had to yield for this huge motor thing that is going on the roads…?
When I asked my husband he said “If you love your life… you have to yield…” huh…!! Disgusting isn’t it???:spin
This happens not only in this scenario… No Truck would travel behind me… They would either come too close behind me (like pushing!!):boo: imagine a huge thing coming so close to you!! Or they want to overtake me and go in front…
I used to have fun driving my kinetic Honda in India… These transport Bus people have this same problem… they cannot stand driving behind any vehicle… They would Honk like hell… and they would overtake you and stop right before you… I would feel like kicking him… WitsendWhen he knew he had to stop why he couldn’t wait for me to go in the front!!!
I guess this would never end!

See sometimes the road is narrow, and i see a bus guy hinking away, i quietly go to the side, let him overtake and then drive peacefully, singing and smoking.Big Laugh

Otherwise i have tension to drive faster with the giant behind me, and mayu force me to make a mistake.

So relax, dont smoke like me, but get to the side as u do, and sing a lovely Hindi song, and then follow the truck at lesure.

Dear Pavi,
I agree with you completely, i too notice who ever has the right of way, the unwritten law is smaller vehicle has to give way for bigger vehicle. My son used to tell me if the tankers knocks your car,its your car gets damaged than the tanker. Who is the loser?
Same way taller people are noticed in general unless shorter has their own glaring statements.
Mt feeling is that when you are big , you start acting big and powerful and start dominating if they can get away with that.

Dear Pavi,

I try to be as calm as possible under such circumstances though believe me its a herculean task to do so. But its better to reach somewhere a little late than to not reach at all , isnt it??

When it comes to people yeah bigger ones do have a more dominating personality. I have seen very many big built recessive people.

My dear Pavi ,

I neither drive nor am familiar with the US traffic laws but I agree with Kamalji jaan bachi tho wahi kafi hai.It is not a question of right or wrong but forgiving,forgetting and not fretting over this.Doesn't matter who overtook whom as long you reach home safe.:thumbsup

thats what my husband says.. even if you are late to a place its okie.. it is always better to be safe.. thats what the first thing he said to me.. you should never care of people behind you.. if they want to go they would over take you.. but just because they honk at you or they push you from behind.. you need not go fast or drive carelessly!:spin

Pavi,

Being in US I totally understand your frustration. I have been in same position way too many times (I drive 3 hrs every day, to and from work).

When I drive a small car and see big vehicles tail-gate me or try to intimidate me, I think 'wait till I get bigger vehicle'. Now, I drive a van and still get tail-gated Rant. I have tried to tail-gate someone who is doing 45 miles in speed lane on a 70 mile highway, but have failed Drowning.

I guess it is just not in me to intimidate others bonk. But, hey, I would rather arrive late and safe than never arrive.
