    Hi Bhagirathi,
You are correct. I go with Bhagirathi. people who are on diet can remove excess water. As she said if you want to give the 'draind stuff' (Kanji) for old people who cant take solid food, will be so healthy for them. :idea Insted of any sugared drink or health drink they can drink this 'kanji' with salt and curd or even with rasam or sambar, they will get good energy and they feel like had a full meal like curd rice.

    Hope this will help you

The kanji with curds and salt is very good for those who have white discharge.

    hi rya.........

if you cook rice in pressure cooker you can save time and gas.
do one thing... for the boiled rice keep rice and water ina pressure cooker, cook until two whistle. keep aside for cool. then open, add boiled water then strain, you will get good rice. according to the type of rice controll or reduce or increase whistle time. this type of cooked rice are without starch .
    good luck

Pressure cooking the rice is better because draining leads to loss of vitamins. This is the same case of cooking vegetables. Even the water remained after cooking vegetables should not be drained. This leads to wastage of vitamins and minerals.
