    Hi Maithreyi,

You have a heavy pair in your closet, get the latest ones which are simple and easy to carry off with Salwars and Sarees, we also get coloured strings with small trinkets which can be either worn in pair or single!

I too do not get the opportunity to wear them often, but still they remain my favourite accessory.

    Hi Latha,

In Mumbai too we have jewellers to dish out beautiful patterns of anklets. Now a days you got the fashionable ones in Malls too which are very appealing to our eyes.

Salem seems to be the hub of the beautiful accessory!

    Thanks for the valuable information.

    Hi Pavi,

In Mumbai too, we have teenagers wearing anklet only on one leg over capris, denims etc..

During our times too, the trend was in and it is still hot and happening.

Anklets which are a bit heavy do not go well with all dresses, the simpler ones really steal the show.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Hi Sow,

I get to see women in 9 yards saree very rarely here in Mumbai. Now a days, 60+ women have settled for 6 yards! With 9 yards saree you get a complete look of the pair shining around your anklets.

    Way to go.

    Hi Mals!
That is something close to my heart. I love anklets! But you know what? I gave up wearing anklets as an offering to God! (Not that I literally offered to drop the anklets that I was wearing in some temple but that I would stop wearing them. Some how I felt offering materials in exchange for favours is like bribing). My son had problems when he joined engg in S'pore. his course was tough. So I prayed to God that he should get over his problems for which I decided to sacrifice wearing anklets which I loved to wear! I am sure even otherwise my son would have got over his difficulties but then at the time I felt so helpless and desperate for my son that I felt this was not much of a sacrifice.5 years past, I do miss my anklets but I do not regret my action!
    Love,
    Malathi
