Do You Feel You Are In Penance And How Are You Learning

We are in penance
In some point of out lives
We are in penance
Whether or not
We realize

Our penance may be self-imposed
Our penance may be forced
Our penance may be due to
Separation, Abandonment, or Divorce

During our penance is
Where we grow our resolve
During our penance is
Where our petty worries are absolved

Penance can be a day, a month, a year
Penance can be seemingly forever
With pain, tears, and no time to spare

What is penance
How does it look like
It can happen to wrong-doers
It can happen to those to do right

Is penance necessarily bad
During penance, there are
Benefits to be had

Penance teaches you about yourself
Penance teaches you at the end of the day
There is nothing, and no one else

Penance teaches you to be unafraid
Penance teaches you acceptance
So bad situations leave you unscathed

Are you comfortable in penance
Do you want to stay
Or is it because in penance
You learn that everything is now ok

 

LOL, we are ALL in need of advice

We must measure our words carefully
Because like surgery, it cannot cut twice
