I made it today and could not wait to share with you all.How did you like the carving on the lantern???Actually this should be hanging up side down but here,I am not sure if I can do it,but thought of putting this way

Sangitha, I used the card sheet for preparing this.Here in US I got one with smooth surface which is like laminated but regular card sheet should also work.

For design, I made a a cut out first and put the design using that like we do for Rangoli...

Gleaming creativity.Bow for your laborious skill.Keep it up.
ideasmiley instead of open top....
Do some stencil work matching with already carved one(preferably on white butter sheet/tissue paper) and cover the top either flat or in pyramid shape.
Just imagine when it is illuminated.
You will get other dimension of lightening.
Will work fine with both position(hanging and flat)
