By Jove, you may be right there! People say that at any point of time, there will be three great sages in Tiruvannamalai, one in invisible form, one in human form and one in the form of a lesser being.

    Dear Bhargavi

It is interesting that you mention that some rishis took the form of lizards.

In Kanchipuram in the Varadaraja Perumal Swamy temple, are the sculptures of two lizards carved on the ceiling of the corridor. The lizards, one covered with a plate of Gold and the other with a sheet of Silver, are believed to be the disciples of an ancient rishi who were cursed to become lizards by their guru. For a long time now, people who visit the temple stand in line to touch the two lizards, in a gesture that means both getting the blessings of Sri Varadaraja, and also helping liberate the disciples from the curse. According to the legend, the Sun and the Moon stand as witnesses to this event. The sculptures of the Sun and the Moon can be found beside those of the lizards.

I have visited this temple and have also touched these sculptures.

    Regards.

    Dear Sri
From the information pouring in about lizards, it is not surprising and in fact fully justified that they find a place even in our 'Panchangams'!

    Rightly said, Cheeniya Sir...

But you should also know one thing...that, if a person overhears others..he is sure to be born as a lizard, that's what elders said., isn't it...
It must be for the mortals like us...and not for rishis...

    Dear Anna

Because of Raba I also had the pleasure of reading the lizard story.
Good that the lizard died and you were saved. Otherwise how could I have got the relation of this loving Anna. I think here in IL when people feel lost they start reading your ramblings and feel better. Yesterday also Paru had given fb to your post written in 2007 na.

i pray to God to give you long life and good health .

    Dear Raba
I am hearing of oxymoron after a long long time! I have always wondered why this particular figure of speech has a moron attached to it. What is so stupid about it? Actually it is tough to make a sentence with an oxymoron. Moron, therefore, appears out of place there.

Sorry for digressing! I thank you for your kind fb.

    Dear Viji
Thank you not only for your typical FB but for your good wishes too. I really value good wishes from those who I have never even met in my life. I am beholden to IL for making this possible. As an elder to you, I give you my abundant blessings!
