A friend of mine told me this joke involving one of his friends, who is living in England (and who may be of Indian origin). The English friend was complaining that his mother ("mum") is making him do a lot of garden work. "Why can't you get a Mexican?' my friend asked. "My mum thinks that I am the Mexican" his friend said. My wife thinks that I am the Mexican and is making me do a lot of yard work We have had a late summer onset this year and are already quite late in planting flowers. Since we only have a short summer (perhaps three to four months), each week of good weather is precious. Actually I don't mind planting flowers since there is immediate gratification. My older son is worse than me when it comes to manual labor. When he comes home later this summer, I am going to give him some work. Chances are that he will promptly find a Mexican
Not at all The word "Mexican" just stands for "professional gardener". The joke I heard had the word "Mexican" in it. I was aware that I might get such a reaction when I wrote it, but let it go.
