I see Dr. Campbell talking about a "India double mutant" -- something new that is now found in a few cases in UK.

Heartbreaking and horrifying scenes in India. The true scale of the catastrophe is more worse than what’s been told on news. Tragic scenes all over.

The videos and pictures speak volumes. I have watched so many news which breaks ones heart. Videos are beyond disturbing.

Utterly poor public hospital infrastructure, poor preparation for the pandemic with less oxygen at absolutely low levels, less beds, ventilators, medications, not anticipating that the virus wave will peak anytime, complacency, massive election rallies without any precautions, allowing Kumbh Mela, less vaccinations take up and now currently very less stock and virus variants. Now we have double mutant and triple variants which have spread like wild fire.

Why did the government export oxygen more last year instead of stocking it, why did they export more covid vaccines and medications instead of stocking etc? So many questions and the answers are they were unprepared and thought the pandemic was over and publicly claimed victory.

Now blaming state governments to escape their incompetent management. Absolute mismanagement is what is seen in the scenes. Grossly under reporting of the cases and deaths. On a conservative measure they say atleast by 10 times underreported. Many dead who had been cremated or buried as per covid protocols not even counted as covid deaths and the official death rate is in single digits though it’s multifold in many places.

India’s Covid death toll at record high, but true figure likely to be worse

    Its indeed extremely horrifying...
People are to be blamed for being complacent and overconfident and attending mass gathering and roaming around when cases reduced.
But lot of mismanagement by govt like they became very lenient about interstate and international travel and didnt do proper checking I.e RT PCR or quarantine process for instate and international travelers, exported vaccines and medicines and donated medicines and vaccines and essentials in huge numbers to other countries without bothering if there is enough for our country. Knowing fully well about the dense population of India. Vaccination process is extremely slow. They could have released vaccines in March or April itself to general public for all age groups and mass vaccinated. They didnt care. And now there is vaccine shortage.
If managed well the situation wouldn't have been this bad.

It is a headless chicken situation. the Govt. has made people Atma Nibhar by asking to light diyas and ringing bells... Here having rally for Election/Kumbha Mela is more important .... When the whole world was taking care of their own country, putting things into places our politicians were asking people to gather for rally...... it is heart wrenching what people here are going through.... But hey, do the Govt. care ? No, because they know by the next election they will play a religion card or a Pakistan/India Card and they can fool easily these so called educated idiots of our country.... who prays their Govt. more than their God.

Martin Luther King Jr. once said: “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of convenience and comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

I had to stand in the line for two hours to get vaccinated. They were giving only 100 token a day . Reason....there is a shortage of vaccine!!! I went at 6 in the morning to get my token at 8 0' clock. Many went back without getting. Some said it is their third trip. Politicians are only interested in elections is six states. Human life is the last thing they care! I am in Hyderabad.
