Hi, Enjoy this piece...it makes a lot of sense! Coffee & Cups A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to hot coffee. When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups and were eyeing each other's cups. Now if life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change. Some times, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it." So, don't let the cups drive you... enjoy the coffee instead. Have a nice day! Purnima
cup with a tip! Purnima, A nice one and how true. Human nature will ofcourse go for a lovely china cup, who wants a bad looking earthenware! Unless one is wise enough to know that the delicate china may fall and break whereas a throw away paper cup might serve the purpose and will cause no work. But try telling this to our mind and ego?! Striving to be satisfied with paper...Kamla!
Rerobably... Hi Kamala Probably its the striving for China Cup that makes our life more colourful.........
what an apt tile you have given Kamla! A cup with a tip, now seems to be much better title than Coffee and Cups!! You are right Kamla, people these days are in constant race against time, in which case they lose their focus at some point. We start getting distracted by other things which deviate us from our actual goals and like you rightly pointed one of them is the EGO, which certainly , at some point in time leads to self destruction, and one more Evil which prevents us from seeing the actual goal is JEALOUSY Yes Kamla - now we have two evils identified-- Ego and Jealousy. Lets see if we have more contributions to this! Thanks and Regards, Purnima
a classic piece ... dear purnima, how very true...i can just say it isa classic piece here.....regards..sunkan
It's all in the mind! AGR, I have no doubt, our world is colorful, it is like almost we have no choice but choose color. But, only almost....! Purnima, we can go on adding so many other weaknesses to our list! Fact is, it is a race and feels like a non-stop movie and we have lost the remote control to stop it! It's a consumer world and there is pretty little what we can do to avert the process. All the same, we still have the choice and it is upto us to see the cup half full or half empty, however colorful the cup in itself may be L, Kamla
