Hi Ladies.. I thought of sharing this simple every day recipe with all... Coconut Rasam which i learnt from ma Granny. Ingredients: Shredded coconut Jeera, Garlic - 4 - 5 (as per ur taste) turmeric powder - 2 tsp tomato - 1 (small) cut into chunks Tamarind paste dried red chillies 2 currey leaves, coriander leaves, salt to taste Method: Grind shredded coconut+jeera+turmeric+tomato+garlic+salt in a mixie into a nice paste. Keep it aside Now heat oil in a pan. Add jeera + dried red chillies + curry leaves . once they are sorted, add the ground paste and add sufficient water. Now add the tamarind paste.. (the rasam will not be as watery as ordinary rasam. it wil be 85% watery as ordinary rasam.) let it come to a boil. add the coriander leaves and serve. I really loved the taste. Try it ........
Hi Vijaisri, Very different for a rasam. Somewhat looks like in between sambaar and rasam. I tried it today. It tastes good. Somewhat tastes like 'thengai araitha kuzhambu" in absence of garlic. Manjukps
