Coconut in sanjose :)

hi,

I am new to sanjose and could not find a way to make coconut chutney.
Can anyone tell me where will i get coconut powder or coconut and all the south indian ingredients in or near Sanjose.

You can get dry coconut powder, frozen (MTR?DEEP) or fresh coconut in the Indian Grocery stores. Even small vegetable stores have full fresh coconut. I use the powder. it is good for sambar. For chutney, the frozen on is good.

Hi,
There are lots of Indian stores in Sunnyvale, Santa clara where you get all the ingredients for chutney. Am not so sure of San Jose - which part of San Jose are you in? South san jose has few Indian stores. If in the east part, Milpitas may be closer to you - lots of desi stores there too.
