    Feedback & query

    Dear Chitra,

prepared Matri & bread bonda last evening.
both were such simple recipes but very tasty.
kalonji & kasuri methi gives such a wonderful combo of flavour to matri. I'm preparing this often & storing it for anytime munch.
bread bonda was toooooooo goood & while eaten fresh the outer crispy bread layer and inner spicy potato filling makes it a perfect snack.
tell me, is Matri a north Indian dish??? maharashtrian, maybe????
also steamed american sweet corn & made butter corn & for one I rubbed half lemon rubbed in salt, red chili powder & we had it while watching the quarter finals - soccer. None of us felt like having dinner later. so, last night was snack night.

thank you for sharing such simple delicacies.

    Love & regards,

    Hello Meena !

Matri is a Bombay dish. I do not know if it is Maharashtrian or Gujarathi !
For the Chennai I L meet, I made bread bonda with a spicy paneer filling.
It is nice, even when cold.
I am writing dishes for " Idli Pardi" !
The first, idliwich is posted just now !
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

    If I may jump in

    Hi Meena,

Matri is not a typical Bombay dish( that is it did not originate there). More common to Punjabis, Sindhis, UP ites etc....

It always happens with caramel payasam !

C P alone, I always make extra since it just tempts you to " sample" it, often .
With a N I taste, I shall post a caramel kheer shortly, so that there will be a choice ! Hope your friend enjoys your dinner !
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

    CVVK again and again

    Dear Chithra,
yesterday I made venpongal for brunch (Aravindh just loves it) with coconut chutney and CVVK. I don't need to say it was excellent. I made sevai and morkuzhambu and lemon sevai for dinner. Hubby is not so very fond of pongal and sevai. But both went into his tummy with out any hitch thanks to CVVK. And it is the third time I am making CVVK this week. I usually get brickbats if I repeat a dish. He ate CVVK with rice again, after eating sevai. Wow, you have given a wonderful recipe. Thanks to you and also thanks to Mr.Sridhar.
    With warm wishes,
    varloo
