Cheaper to buy tickets in US or India?

    Friends, Sometime this fall or winter, I am thinking of bringing my parents to the US for a trip. This is more of a sight-seeing trip than anything else. So, timing is not that critical.

    Do any of you know whether it is cheaper to buy tickets in the US or in India? If I buy a India-USA-India ticket from US, are there any restrictions? Has anyone got by (or got into trouble) for buying tickets in the destination country instead of the departure country? I am wondering whether it is even worth calling travel agents in the US for buying my parent's trip tickets. Thanks in advance for helping out with your comments.

    You can call few travel agents in India and US, compare the prices and exchange rate.
    Whatever works for you, buy the ticket from them :)
