I work as a manual black box tester in mobile technology both IOS and Android. I have close to 3 years of experience in QA in that 6 months is in Mobile and very comfortable with that. I don't come from computer science back ground ( Big Fat Zero in Programming knowledge). The company that I work, a very small start up doesn't have any automation right now. They would really appreciate if I do something for that. I'm not sure I want to/ capable of learning programming language.

I don't know what I should do to improve my skill set which will help me as well my company. I would really appreciate if anyone could guide me.

    Thank you in advance.

Selenium is new technology in Software Testing. And that is similar to java.
Try basics in C language just to stat with, and then you can move to java. And it is not a rocket science to learn automated testing. You get some videos online. I dont prefer text material. You can go for it if want to hugsmiley

    Good luck :)

JAM can u start with a simple scripting language like PERL or Python?
    Try CodeAcademy.org.
Once u get the hang of the basics u can try and automate ur day to day tasks in small steps. For eg if u run some statistics at the end of the end and use excel to do it ..try to write a small program and make it run everyday at 5 pm before u leave.
U just have to get started. Talk to the developers in ur group. I am sure they already have tools they use to test their code (unit test framework etc). U can try to build on that.
