Bread Peas Masala - a famous dish served with bread in Chennai BREAD PEAS MASALA INGREDIENTS: 1.Green peas, boiled - 1 cup (you can use tinned peas also ) 2.Tamarind paste - 1 tsp 3.Roast one by one in oil & grind to a paste: 4.Red chillies - 3 5.Cloves - 2 6.Dhaniya - 1 tsp 7.Pepper - ½ tsp 8.Jeera - ½ tsp 9.Cinnamon - ½ “ 10.Onion - 1, chopped 11.Grind together 1” ginger & 2 pcs of garlic 12.Onions - 2, sliced 13.Oil - 2 tbsp METHOD: 1.In a pressure pan, heat oil & fry the onions till brown. 2.Add ginger-garlic paste & fry for a minute. 3.Add tamarind paste, ½ cup of water, salt & haldi. 3.When it boils add paste & boiled peas. 4.Cover & cook for one whistle. This goes well with chappathis also.
