Welcome to my blogs. Yes better not to lend, i too dont lend money at all, and dont borrow either. Ys u lose the money and the friend, so better the tag of the miser.

Kamalji,

I have seen a few nice ones about borrowing and lending:

I lent my money to a friend
I asked my money from my friend
I lost my money and my friend

In a shop:

You ask credit, I no give, you get mad
I give credit, you no pay, I get mad
Better you get mad

And finally a sterling piece of wisdom from my "major domo" as my husband calls her - i.e. my maid. She has studied till Std. VI. But one has to see her to understand what the words "street smart" mean. My very first cook was her friend. This cook borrowed money from me and when I once cut a bigger chunk of advance from her salary (mind you, I did not cut her salary). She stopped coming next day and never paid me quite a sizeable sum which she owed me. Recently I believe she asked my maid to lend her Rs. 5000/- which my maid refused. Can you imagine, she herself keeps taking loans and the cook expects her to lend her 5 grand!!!!! :crazy So cookie stopped talking to her. So my maid tells me "If I gave her the money and then asked her for it, she would stop talking to me anyway. Better she does not talk to me because I did not give the money". Ha ha.

(atleast cars come back-I never get to see my books again!!!!!)

Dear Satchi,

A maid asking from a maid 5 grand eh ! And her reply is damn good, and even that better u get mad.You have all sorts of people in this world.

A friend of mine is damn good , i take tips from him, and i have learnt from him so much, i even posted a blog here. He says buys time always, dont answer in a hurry, which i do these days, and it pays rich dividends.

Also this is in one of my previous blogs that i say now.

An old man once gave me this advise which has helped me so many times in my life. He said, suppose u have someone working for u, assume his salary is 3000, for example, and he wants to borrow say 10,000 from u for his or her daughter's wedding.

You cant say u dont have the money, he or she knows ho wwealthy u are, so that is not the excuse u can give.

Also the eprson says, u can cut say 500 from my salary. Now 500 a month will take 20 months to cut, so the employment of that person is assured fopr 20 months eh ! and since the person will take home 2500, which is less for his needs, he will start looking for another job, whjen he gets it, he is gone so is the money.

Now what to do.

the old man told me, tell him, how muc will the wedding cost ? He say for example 1 lakh, so u say, so u have managed 90,000 , now u aer short of 10,000/- ?

Well now here is what i can do. i can give u say 2000( the amount u can afford tolose ), i wont cut it, u give me one time, one shot( u know he cant ), so he will keep working with u, and he said take it in writing from the person, and keep it aside safely, tough of no use optherwise.

i found the idea damn good, and so i have done, and it has worked well for me.
