Benefits of applying for divorce with US citizen husban by US GC holder wife

Hi, i am permanent resident of US and my spouse is US citizen( got my GC through his citizenship), we are married for 7 years, i would have to wait for 2 more years to be eligible for my US citizenship. I would like to know the benefits of applying for divorce here in the US verses applying from India.Also is there any disadvantage or complications of me applying for divorce being a non US citizen?Please advice..

Divorce in US will be a lot quicker. You can get it done in less than 5-6 months or some such if both parties co-operate. Indian court systems are slower than snails.

Talk to a good Divorce as well as an Immigration Lawyer. I get the feeling you want to keep your GC ( and US citizenship later on) even after the divorce and are worried what if he cancels your GC ?
