News papers as usual come to my rescue, and this time is no different. A few days back was a report that Arun Nayar’s father Vinod is divorcing his second wife Joan, a month after his son got divorced from his second wife Joan !


Here is what I found from Google search, for I am accused of not getting my facts right, normally I am too lazy, and I my friend VP pointed it out to me in my previous blogs, so I am taking the trouble this time. Here is what I found out

MUMBAI: Arun Nayar’s divorce from British celebrity Elizabeth Hurley, which was granted last month in June barely five years after their grand wedding in Rajasthan, became fodder for tabloids in the UK. Now, his father, business magnate Vinod Nayar, 70, has moved a family court in Mumbai and filed a divorce petition against his second wife Joan—a 60-year-old Manglorean who is a British citizen.

Arun had turned to the same family court when he had filed for divorce against his first wife Italian model Valentina Pedroni six years ago on the grounds of ‘cruelty’. The senior Nayar, too, has cited ‘cruelty’ and ‘abandonment’ in his divorce petition. On the other hand, Joan has sought for police protection against her husband, Rs 15 crore damages and her right to reside in the couple’s sprawling south Mumbai residence in Marine Drive.

That the couple’s seven-year-old marriage — they tied the knot in 2004 — has hit rocky ground is evident in the vitriolic attacks they have made against each other in their petitions, with even their son’s former wife Liz being mentioned a couple of times.

Vinod’s petition claims that his wife was “rude to his good friends and tried to distance him from them, with a long term view to get as much as possible before and after his death.” He accuses her of getting the police home to “humiliate” him on “domestic violence complaints” just because he slept in “the study” one time.


Well the son Arun Nayar too divorced his first wife, Italian Valentina, whom he married in 97, and divorced her , citing mental cruelty, then married Liz Hurley, whom again he has divorced, the reasons not known.

Sad both got cruel women as wives, I mean so said the news, not me !!


His dad too divorced his first wife, Arun; mother, then in 04 married Joane, whom too he divorced last month, along with his son.




So in short both son and father have divorced twice eh !

And I have seen a father siring a kid, at the same time his son sires, good in this case both did not sire one !

Is the son learning from father, or is it the other way around ? I have seen the pics of his father, wearing those gaudy floral Bermuda shirts, which even I would cringe to wear, forget even a teenager.


And the father and son are always called textile magnates , but never have any details come out of what they own.

Rumours are abuzz that Hurley paid for much of the celebrations. In fact, it seems, Arun has been "subsidised" by his wealthy parents, who have extensive interests in the textile industry, for most of his adult life.
So it is Miss Hurley, not her husband, who is the "self-made millionaire" in this marriage - worth an estimated £ 13 million.
Indeed, by common consent, Arun Nayar's main "claim to fame" in Mumbai, throughout his 20s and 30s, was womanising and partying.
"He was very promiscuous," said someone who moved in the same circles. In between the sex and champagne, and a failed marriage to an Italian model, Nayar set up a software design company with his younger brother Nikhil.

Before Arun divorced his first wife, he was moving around with Liz for 3 years, and Liz paid him back good, when she started to move around with Shane Warne, even before she divorced Arun !

It all comes around eh ! You get paid back, in the same coin .

As we were discussing this with bhabhi, she said , divorce is so common these days, and she gave me a few examples, where couples have divorced after more than 20 years of marriage, and one strange thing she told me, one couple was just waiting , they celebrated their 25th Silver Jubilee, and the next month filed for divorce !

Yes marriage don’t work, I agree, divorces are common, agreed, but I don’t understand some things. It does take a couple some time to get to know each other properly, say in a arranged marriage, so if a break up is imminent , then say it should happen in a year or two.

But after u have had kids, and two decades and more of marriage, then u call it off, how come it took u so long to realized the partner is wrong for u ? or u were waiting for the kids to get married, then u can divorce, other wise the kids wont get married ?

Most of the times it is the man that strays first, so I feel, for he has more opportunities as he is out of home most of the time. What the man does not realize, is that the other younger woman, after whom he is latoo, may be after his money and position, and living a good life, and so the extra attention to this fellow. I am not saying at all, that she is a slut, don’t get me wrong, but what the guy thinks, may not be the case.

That is why I tell harsha not to fear, no woman in her right senses can steal me from her. For I am obese, I look 10 years older, and even if a woman were to flatter me, I wont get taken in, for I know what I am, I would just tell her to get her eyesight tested, and to catch someone more rich and eligible.
I am invited to these page 3 parties, but we both don’t go, for what will we go and do there. I am pretty well known here. And the pics come in the Magazine section of the daily newspapers here too. But all they do is booze all through the night, and dance, which i don’t do, I sleep by 10/30 , and she before that . So that keeps me away from temptations eh !

And then I have my reputation here to take care of eh ! HAHA.
But it would do my ego no harm, u see if someone found me pretty, sorry desirable, who would that unfortunate woman, I am curious to know.
I don’t know if u know this, but I am better looking and younger than Vinod Nayyar !!!!!
If he can get a babe, well then !

Dear Matha,

nothing wrong in oldies divorcing, but this is one strange case where father and son divorce same times, and in the same court too.
