    You asked me to tear that paper you gave, into pieces.
    I did and you gave a pat, saying "Good boy!".
    Encouraged, I repeated the process, tearing a paper nearby.
    Don't know for what reason, you screamed at me!

    You asked me to throw that thing out of the window.
    I did and you hugged and kissed me. I beamed in joy.
    Then I took a tumbler [a bigger one] and threw it out.
    You were harsh to me.

    I came closer and kissed you.
    You hugged me tight and cheered me.
    You took me into your arms while I was busy doing something.
    When I tried to resist in the only way that I knew - shouting and scratching you, you put me down and scolded mom.

    I don't understand you.
    Your actions are confusing.
    I go to mom and wonder whether I should say this to her.
    She hugs me tight and kisses me.

    I scratch her face.
    Her hug becomes tighter.

    Why aren't you like her, daddy?

    p.s. This is my imagination of a small child's confusion.
    Hope it was ok.

    A confused poem well conveyed how a child is getting confused?? let parents should
    not confuse the child more to ask too many questions.

    Dear RGS,

    It is a nice one. The men do not worry about the feelings of their children. They do shower their affection only when they have time. Mother is watching the child's reaction and accordingly customize her action. That is why mother is several step closer to a child. The funny part is, everything that you said happens in our house but to a little puppy dog.

    Hi Rgs,
    Well expressed about the confusion of kids towards parents attitude.
    It goes on daily in our house --- my younger daughter X my DH.
    Bcos of this, until she was 5 yrs. old, she even didin't allowed him to touch the pram while going out.
    Enjoyed reading it a lot.

    They aren't that much different in a few things Viswamitra. Seeking attention and trying to please are some of the common traits for all little ones, be it humans or pets while being little. Thanks for your feedback. -rgs
