Hi All, thanks a lot for all your suggestions... the procedure is as follows: Sugar - 1/2 cup Milk - 1/4th cup to remove impurities and to give white colour Water - 1/4 cup Food colour- ur choice Melt the sugar and the water.. when sugar has completely dissolved and bubbles start to come add little bit of the milk. THe impurities will start floating by the sides. Filter this using a muslin cloth or Tea filter, clean the kadai and pour the mixture again and heat it. Once again when bubble starts to come, pour the remaining milk. If again impurities are there filter again...else continue to boil this mixture till we get to a stage where when a drop of this solution is added to a paper or a small plate, it should solidify within couple of seconds. At this stage remove the sugar solution from fire and pour it into the mould. PLease soak the moulds in water for an hour before you start the preparation. After pouring the sugar solution, leave it undisturbed for 10-15 mins then scrap the excess sugar over the top and gently remove it from the moulds. If required, you can add food colours after the addition of milk (second time). Hope this helps.
