Apartment in brooklyn for couple to stay

Hi friends,

My hubby's workplace is getting relocated to NYC near world trade centre . What I am noticing is travel time between brooklyn ( some apartments ) n his office is less as compared to travel time from jersey city can anyone here who stays in brooklyn can guide me in this regard.

Also wanna know will we find indian grocerry etc. in brooklyn??
In total is it a good idea to stay in brooklyn for indian families is brooklyn safe n sound to stay.

Any indians staying in brooklyn or have stayed in recent past please suggest.
