Anyone who applied for H4->H1 COS after getting a project?Need some info urgently

    I have the H1B petition that was filed in 2008. I entered US in 2009 on H4. Was never active on H1 and didnt go for stamping.

    Now I want to apply for H4->H1 COS. Please let me know when one can start working? My employer says that he has already applied for my LCA and once approved he will file the COS. As soon as he applies for COS, I can start working. Basically, he is saying no need to wait for approval.

    Was this the same case with you? How long it took for the COS for you? When did you start working?

    Also, if you have any info on the overall process/steps involved, please throw some light on this.

    Please help me!!
