Surgery dine decades ago created scar tissue in anal opening which narrowed it The 15 yrs ago he got flap surgery but made anal opening even more narrow now 3 months after heart surgery the opening is even smaller, 1/5 normal suze last night my Dad had strong urge to go but after three hours on toilet, nothing came my Dad says the colon rectal surgeon cannot do anything.I’m even said maybe they can make cut I the opening my Dad says what about healing, what if there is no effect or makes things worse Im unsure if enemy will help. Consult doctor. Go for low fibre semi fluid food till he regains his BM frequency. He can try stool softners or laxatives . Ask doctor about it or fleet/ other enemas. But, if there is block, enema alone cannot alone solve issue. The issue can become serious. Try to regain regular BM frequency.
Constipation can become a medical emergency, so, please keep a close eye on this. The natural remedy for this is castor oil. Initially 2 to 4 teaspoon for quick result followed by plenty of water Repeat if necessary the following day and only if necessary. For doing regularly managing prune juice is a good way. 1 to 2 glasses per day. Lots of water Both these don't do much harm and are not reliant chemicals. Have electrolytes at hand if body loses too much water. Good luck.
I'l ask my Dad To him the anal opening is small, almost closed. Only thing that may help is to liquify the bowel like diarrhea
Go see a GI if he is in discomfort. Your dad is still taking medications, right? Don’t make too many dietary changes or try folk remedies all at once.
Yes my Dad take blood thinner, water pill (Cardiologist reduced the dosage when i mentioned constipation concerns), heart medicine, anti afib medicine in morning and blood thinner, heart medicine at night
High fibre veggies and fruits make stool larger and not good when there is narrowing. Consult doctor if problem persists. They may suggest options that is suitable for him at this age and with all these health conditions.
