    Is anyone doing fashion jewelry here in US? I need an information about the headpin thickness to be used for making Pearl earrings.

    Hi Indu,

    This probably is too late for you, but I like to post an answer for other ILites.

    The thickness of headpin I use depends on the "hole" of the gemstone/pearl.

    I generally use 24 gauge headpin for all gemstones & pearls. Now if the pearl is fake or Swarovksi then 22g will work too.

    Now having sais that I've had to actually take the "bead" to the store to fiqure out which which gauge wire will go thru it.

    Where do you stay. In the Bay area we have a lot of "Bead Stores". A visit to these stores will give you a lot of other ideas & product info too. Then go ahead & buy from ebay. That's what I do or better still visit the GEMS SHOW at San Mateo
