Hello, My husband is planning to move to US next year... He is a Doctor so i guess he will have H1B visa, but as a dependent wat visa would i be on, can i work in US. Many Thanks Rose
Thanks Suji Is there any particular visa which allows husband n wife to work?? And if I get H4 how long will it be before i can start working?? Manythanks
Hi Am from Pittsburgh in Pensilvania state in US. If your husband gets an H1B visa u can get only H4 dependent Visa. An H4 dependent holder cannot work in Visa. But if your husband gets a L1 visa u can apply for L2, on which u have a work permit. But dont know which visa a doctor would get....??! And one more thing is even u can apply for an H1B if u are professionally qualified and willing to work in US and if u could get an H1B sponsor for u. If u come in H4, definitely u cannot work, as the law itself prohibits that. But if u wanna study u can and u dont need an education visa. Trust this is of some help to you ! Welcome to US in advance !wave:wave Warm regards :thumbsup
Hi, I am in US on H-4 visa. You cannot work legally on H-4 in US. The only thing you can do is volunteer work on H-4. To work here you should have your own H1 visa. Welcome to US and all the best.
