Any one bought unlock GSM phone from Amazon?

Hi,

I am planning to buy a unlock phone from Amazon for my dad (either blackbeery or Android). This phone will be used in India. But I am l'll bit confused whether phone will work or not (after reading reviews). Any one did the same?

Which phone you bought and any specific seller in Amazon?

You have to be careful on the supported bands. Any quad band GSM will work in India, even if its locked its easy to unlock. I would not pay a fortune to get an unlocked phone, instead get a Go-Phone (Prepaid) from ATT from Walmart or ATT Store. Make sure the phone supports quad band.

Go-Phone is a no contract, post paid phone... there is no strings whatsoever. While activating it ATT will ask you to choose between a fixed or a pay as you go plan, pick anything. Depending on which city you go to, any smart mobile phone repair shop guy can unlock your phone...
