Share a song you like or came across, old or new, and tell us something special about it.

Maybe about the singer, the words, what it reminds you of, the actors, cinematography, or any associated trivia.

One song per post, and a few sentences about it.

Gallan Goodiyaan from Dil Dhadakne Do

Initially was drawn to it for the fast beats and a welcome relief in a movie that was a bit dragging. So many people with so many problems and nowhere to jump but the ocean. : ) Then, I heard it again some months later, and the line 'tu floor pe jab se aayi, badi solid masti chhayi' stuck in the mind.

Some good singing and dancing. Anil Kapoor, looks ageless, even with the grey-and-white in hair. A let-down to see Rahul Bose whistling and doing regular dance moves. I remember him only for roles and acting like in Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, and Chameli, and one more armed forces related movie (name escapes the mind).

Gallan - plural of talk/gal in Punjabi. Goodiyaan - like jaggery. Sweet talks.

    Sweet song.

I like this old song from Sujata

Sunit Dutt sings on phone to Tanuja

Jalte hai jiske liye teri ankho ke diye doondu laya hu wahi geet my tere liye

I have not seen this picture but like it very much. So much love is there in that song. I am very fond of love songs and love stories. Sad that I could not go for love marriage but started loving after marriage

Dekha Ek khwab ko ... I barely knew any hindi then but this one song always brightens my heart.
The lyrics, the music and the picturisation lifts the mood. My dream to visit the Tulip fields came true atlast.
    I love these lines below:
Kal Agar Na Roshni Ke Kaafile Hue
If tomorrow there is no light
Pyar Ke Hazaar Deep Hain Jale Hue
There are a thousand lanterns of our love burning brightly !

Aah... beautiful song. But we used to groan when it came on Chitrahaar. We wanted Shammi Kapoor or Dev Anand..... or even Amitabh. Sunil Dutt sings it to Nutan (Tanuja's sister).

True... beautiful lines. One of those cases where translation to English doesn't make them corny! I think this audio cassette was one of my most played ones.

Ke Pag Ghungroo Baandh, Namak Halal

I love most of the old classics, but this keeps rising to the top of the pile. Perfect combination of tune, meaningful lyrics, acting by Amitabh and of course the late, great Smita Patil

    @Rihana Hi :)
Nice thread...I like this song lyrics...lyrics relates to life..

    Movie: Kal Ho Naa Ho
    Singer: Sonu Nigam
    Music: Shankar Ehsaan Loy
    Lyrics: Javed Akhtar

Har Ghadi Badal Raha Hai Roop Zindagi
    Every moment life is changing
Chaav Hai Kabhi Hai Dhoop Zindagi
Sometime there's shade, at times sun
Har Pal Yahan Jee Bhar Jiyo
Live every moment to the fullest
    Jo Hai Sama
    This very moment
    Kal Ho Na Ho
    May not be there tomorrow
Chaahe Jo Tumhe Poore Dil Se
The one who Loves you whole-heartedly
    Milta Hai Woh Mushkil Se
Is very difficult to come by
    Aisa Jo Koi Kahin Hai
If there is someone like that somewhere
    Palko Ke Leke Saaye
To the shadow of your eyes
    Paas Koi Jo Aaye
    When someone comes
    Lakh Sambhalo Paagal Dil Ko
Get hold of your crazy heart
    Dil Dhadke Hi Jaaye
    It'll keep on beating
Par Sochlo Iss Pal Hai Jo
    Remember that, this moment,
Woh Dastan Kal Ho Na Ho
This story, may not be there tomorrow
