Gallan Goodiyaan from Dil Dhadakne Do Initially was drawn to it for the fast beats and a welcome relief in a movie that was a bit dragging. So many people with so many problems and nowhere to jump but the ocean. : ) Then, I heard it again some months later, and the line 'tu floor pe jab se aayi, badi solid masti chhayi' stuck in the mind. Some good singing and dancing. Anil Kapoor, looks ageless, even with the grey-and-white in hair. A let-down to see Rahul Bose whistling and doing regular dance moves. I remember him only for roles and acting like in Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, and Chameli, and one more armed forces related movie (name escapes the mind). Gallan - plural of talk/gal in Punjabi. Goodiyaan - like jaggery. Sweet talks. Sweet song.
I like this old song from Sujata Sunit Dutt sings on phone to Tanuja Jalte hai jiske liye teri ankho ke diye doondu laya hu wahi geet my tere liye I have not seen this picture but like it very much. So much love is there in that song. I am very fond of love songs and love stories. Sad that I could not go for love marriage but started loving after marriage
Dekha Ek khwab ko ... I barely knew any hindi then but this one song always brightens my heart. The lyrics, the music and the picturisation lifts the mood. My dream to visit the Tulip fields came true atlast. I love these lines below: Kal Agar Na Roshni Ke Kaafile Hue If tomorrow there is no light Pyar Ke Hazaar Deep Hain Jale Hue There are a thousand lanterns of our love burning brightly !
Aah... beautiful song. But we used to groan when it came on Chitrahaar. We wanted Shammi Kapoor or Dev Anand..... or even Amitabh. Sunil Dutt sings it to Nutan (Tanuja's sister).
True... beautiful lines. One of those cases where translation to English doesn't make them corny! I think this audio cassette was one of my most played ones.
Ke Pag Ghungroo Baandh, Namak Halal I love most of the old classics, but this keeps rising to the top of the pile. Perfect combination of tune, meaningful lyrics, acting by Amitabh and of course the late, great Smita Patil
