I just enjoyd reading your post.After quite some time I laughed my heart out.I laughed so much,got tears in my eyes my dh thought I was upset about something.
"I told you that I will take care of the dinner ,no?Why should you make a scene?" said he.I showed him your thread.

Jokes apart in inter caste marriages such minor problems do occur,but love conquers all hurdles.In our family a relative boy married a Punjabi girl recently.We were sure there would be fireworks after sometime because the boy's mother went to live with them.She is a very orthodox strictly vegetarian iyengar lady.But fortunately ,the DIL has learnt to make sambhar the MIL has learnt to appreciate and enjoy rajma,chappathi and dhal ,so everyting is hunkydory in their house.


My heart goes out to the young man in your narration who yearns for thayir sadham and pickle and my praises to the wife who brings homemade lunch for him.
