Advice on ICIC pru smart kid plan..

    Hi friends,
    I have twin daughters who were born in US (citizens).They just turned 2. We are planning to invest in ICICI pru smart kid plan for their future educational needs. Yearly premium for each Rs.25k.

    Please share your opinion and if any one has invested in this plan, let me know your exp too.

    I prefer always LIC for Kids investment plans since it has to be in long run companies. Biral sun life, AIG ,ICICI are good , but we need to see past performance. LIC is govt funded and will be better for kids in future. may be there will be little variation in the benefits as well as Premiums..

    In general charges on insurance products are high. I would suggest you to buy a term insurance product and ear mark it for children education in case of your absence. In case of your presence you may invest in mutual funds like ICICI long term bond funds
