This News I have Read and would like to share with our members here.

This can happen only in India.

Although the 1993 Mumbai Serial Blast cases were over and judgement delivered on September 14th 2007, the pitiest part of those 23 persons who areacquitted , could not feel happy & cheerful as they have to pay Rs.20000 to get the court order copy ( which runs for nearly 6000 pages, each costing Rs.4 ) to prove his innocence to the rest of the world.

As these are certified copies couldnot be given free & have to pay from those who wanted it and the TADA acquitted people have to keep it with them for future references in case there is any review petition.

Those other 100 convicted persons ( also have to pay the same amount of Rs.20000 to appeal in supreme court and the funniest part is this amount is paid by the Government ) gets it free... This can happen only in our country India.

Some of the acuqitted took the easier steps by paying only Rs.12 (as the operative part of the judgement is only 3 pages )

Is it not the time to amend the laws ??? is our anxiety.

    hi subbu sir,

Lot of these things can happen only in india...like we copy the singapore defence website word by word not even editing for our delhi police website... I had a good laugh then..they forgot to erase the singapore word from the website..even the numbers where for singapore emergency 999...when ours was 100....:bangcomp:.

Coming to the point about the 20000, we have so many loose ends in our laws..
who bells the cat..no body because everybody uses these loop holes for thier own favourable situations.

Good observations dear shanthi and the comparisions with singapore numbers:)
Inspite of all loop holes in the IPC, still people get away from convictions.
