Ram and Ravi went to the milk vending society to procure for making milk sweets. Ram purchased 50 litres of milk and Ravi purchased 30 litres of milk. That is all the milk the society had. Meanwhile Gopal, another mithai wala came there and he also needed milk. Ram and Ravi wanted to help Gopal. They decided to share the milk equally between themselves.Gopal gave Rs 800/ towards his share. How should this money be divided between Ram and Ravi? Jayasala42
As Gopal paid Rs 800/- for 1/3 of the milk, the cost of total of 80 litres will be Rs 2400/ that is Rs 30/- per litre. Now Ram has paid for 50 litres that is Rs 1500/- and Ravi has paid Rs 900/ Since they have shared the milk equally, each has to bear rs 800/- only. Ram has paid Rs 700 extra and Ravi has paid Rs 100/- extra. So ram has to take Rs 700 and Ravi has to take Rs 100/ out of the amt of rs 800 received from Gopal. Jayasala 42
