Sure, Sowmi, catch hold of the credit of 25% you have asked for. While visiting a tomb on the island of Andros, Professor Babu had quite a chuckle. It seems the archaeologist who made the discovery claims the tomb dates from 46 B.C. He is holding a plate inscribed with that date as proof! why is Prof. Babu chuckling? Sriniketan
Hi sri, Because the date must be wrong. That is because 'BC-Before Christ' date cannot be known (to be inscribed) before christ. Is it right? -karthika.
At the party Lisa announced, "The day before yesterday I was 25, and next year I'll be 28". How is it possible? What is her present age? Sriniketan
Hi Sriniketan, It is 26 .. isnt it ? I think the day she announced it was 1st Jan, let's say 2007. And her bday is 31st dec. so on 30th dec'2006 , she was 25. 31st dec'2006, she became 26 (that's her present age) on 31st dec'2007 (which is the same year in which she announced her age), she will become 27 and hence the next year that is in 31st dec' 2008 she will become 28. Nice puzzel
There was a young man who used to visit three temples everyday. While going to the temple, he always takes some flowers with him. And he always takes bath in all the three temple ponds. Whenever he takes bath in the ponds, his flowers get doubled. He distributes all the flowers to all the three temples. He gives the all the temples the same number of flowers and no flower remaining in his hand. So how many flowers did he bring from home? How many flowers did he give each temple? Hint: First temple, he takes bath, flower doubles, he gives to first temple; again he goes to second temple, takes bath, again flower doubles gives to second temple. and again the same to third. Hope i am not confusing
Dear Sri, If he brings 3 flowers from home, in the first pond, it becomes 6 flowers. if he has 6 flowers then he cannot give 8 flowers. Please check the previous post for the edited version.
The young man starts with 7 flowers. At 1st temple he takes bath (so 14 flowers) and leaves 8 flowers at temple. Remaining - 6 flowers. At 2nd temple he takes bath (so 12 flowers) and again leaves 8 flowers at 2nd temple. Remaining - 4 flowers. At 3rd temple he takes bath (so 8 flowers) and he leaves all 8 flowers at 3rd temple.
