A LOVE STORY - Episode 12

Dear Jaya,
No need for apologies. You are never too late. In fact if anybody has to apologize it is me for the delayed response to the fb. I have written a separate post of apology.

Being a father, it's an immense pleasure to dedicate the story to Daughters on the Daughter's day.

What should I say, thanks for the kind words of praise or a hearty welcome for the note of thanks?

HE was a different genre, a different field, a different theme. ALS is all about love. In HE even Madhavan and Priya had a little fault. Here in ALS every character is so ideal, so good, that FATE cannot come a light year near any of these characters. Even if Mr. F decides to come it will be crushed as it happened in Kamla's case. So rest assured Jaya FATE will be kept away not by me but by the goodness which is God's nature.

I am also hoping for the same. You will have to tell me on Sunday evening whether our hopes came true or not.

You can't drown in this Love. This is the kind of love which will always keep you afloat whatever may be the troubles in life.
Honestly I am also floored by the kind of reviews I have got for this episode. I confess that when I wrote the earlier serials I thought a story has to be a mixture of good and bad. I had to strain myself to bring in a vile villain in HE. I am now sure that ILites love love stories and there is no need for any villains or bad elements. Nice to see you feeling happy for me.

Thanks. Well, to post some kutti kutti good news was just a blink decision. All the news came up virtually in the eleventh hour and hence could not communicate to you earlier. I'll bring all the books to Bangalore. (except the ones that got exhausted) And you will have the homework of reading them and reviewing them in IL.

Treat yourself with two sweets, okva? Because two guesses were right. I had to admonish you earlier as I don't want others to expect the same. A story and a life are the same. If you know what's going to happen then you'll lose your interest. That's the basis of my admonition.

apt comparison. though I did not see Agni Sakshi and have not even heard of it. In HE it was a mentally deranged Priya repeatedly writing Madhavan's name. Here it's the brilliant Vidya virtually living with Arun's pictures.

If I show to your Accountant husband I will also tell him as his professional brother that these are all item I have not purchased. The shopping list is to add more credibility to the story and not to fan the longing in the ILite's minds. Otherwise the DHs of the ILites will join together against me.

Thanks, Indhu. I first wrote an ordinary expression of love. But was not happy with that. Deleted it all and went on thinking. Then it struck me that real love will not be like that. And as I was riding the bike the other day I visualised me in Vidya's position and the lines came out on their own. Happy that you liked it.

Not all Dads are like me. There are some perfect Dads too which I wanted to highlight and hence that father character.

You are right. She has suffered for these 10 years. Her suffering should have been muh more than that of Arun.

What Kamla says is the last part of the marriage mantra the popular one that starts with Mangalyam dhandhuna nena

Somehow I started liking these words and have repeated it in ... no no no I am not going to tell.

by living with one of the finest woman for 25 years.

In the climax scene in Dum Dum Dum Madhavan's father after he realised his mistake will fall at the feet of Jyothika's father in the railway station in front of so many people. There will be no dry eyes in the audience. I wanted to create a similar scene in ALS.

These words mean the whole world to me. Only after seeing your reply I sat for two hours and completed the 13th episode.

I am also eagerly waiting to see your reaction to what's happening in the 13th episode.

Even after all the philosophizing rejections do bog us down. Amitabh became a great actor later. But what was his mental state at the time of rejection? Should have been quite awful. But of late slowly getting used to rejections. You want to know how big a writer I am? Well my acceptance rate is about one-third. That is two-thirds of whatever I write for mags get rejected.

Now I have started talking to mag editors and tell them about the story and then only send it across. As I am writing mostly novels now, most of them are discussed and then accepted.

I am happy and proud that you have got the crux of the serial.That was how I planned the whole serial to start with.
The same incidents. Two different perceptions. Two different lives. That's the only angle of love not yet experimented.
Real love does not destroy; it always creates and exemplifies.That's why Arun became a big writer and Vidya, a brilliant professional.
vidya took the Narasimha Avatar to show her potentiality like Sathya Bhama who fought in the battle for Krishna. Now she is the Sathyabhama at home, all love and no war.
You are right about love and positive thinking being the backbone of every life. In the earlier serials there used to be some negative elements; in this I have tried to eliminate them all. You will see more of the positive side in Episode 13 and 14. Hopefully I should be able to finish the story within the next two episodes.

And I am waiting for my DD's first fb and long fb for the 13th episode.

No need to be sorry, chocolate. In fact that shiver ensured that I write a good 13th episode.

You are right,Kamla is a good name. Even the German author Herman Hesse used this name for a character in his classic novel Siddhartha.

I'll tell it right now, Chocolate. In 1999 I created a miniature version of this story for Vikatan's Valentine's day issue. At that time I used the name Vidya and Arun. When my wife was pregnant way back in 1985, we decided that if the first child is a boy we'll name him Arun. So I used the name. Vidya is the name of the heroine of my first story published in Anandha Vikatan. (That's published here in IL under the name Love Letter - Contest story)

Normally in traditional love stories the lovers would do nothing but love and achieve nothing but love. But in this case both Vidya and Arun have achieved in their respective fields. You are right - to see an all-achiever in a woman.
I also share your hope. Let's just wait and see.

Doctors say that chocolates give us enthusiasm. I also have another habit. I take a polo (the mint with a hole) immediately after a cup of coffee. It enhances the stimulation provided by the strong brew.

That's a great name. The word "div" has its roots in dei which means God. That's how the word deity came in. That's why we Vaishnavites call the places of God "Divya Desam" and our sacred text is "Divya Prabandham"
