Dear SS, good that you got excellent results!
Your 'loving touch' has made Shiva feel, it was better than you had had in Khazana, Dubai!
I learnt that recipe atleast 40 yrs back, can you believe??
    Love,
    Chithra.

Bindhu, in general, if dry, they keep well. Usually I warm all these in MW for 1-2 mts to be on the safer side & store, except green gram awhich will not sprout if warmed.

What is the name of the dal made using whole black gram...

The black urad dish is Dhal makhni.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Chitramma,

Though I add this "loving touch" to everyday cooking, I'm sure only following your recipe without missing any points simply produces magic..I'm reminded of Harry Potters Potions Lessons..but only i get to enjoy this one a lot. No cooking today except dhal and rasam for me and little one as S is on Pradosha Vratham. Only evening tiffin. Im planning to try RG's again today.

Read about your vericose veins.really sorry.hope medication helps..

    Thanks a lot.

    Love

    Dear Chitra Maami,

I saw some insects in the rice stored in the 'arisi drum'. Immediately remembered that you had given some tip, using some powder etc. to protect stored rice. Unable to locate that tip. Can you please give me the link for it.

Just read in the previous post that you've got vericose veins. Hope it is mild. Do take care. My prayers to you, maami.

I live in a place where there are very few indians and those i know use store bought curd.

I tried twice with organic yogurt. first time was a disaster. The second time I let it set for some more time since I always keep the AC on and may be it was not warm enough to get thick curd. I checked yesterday evening it was thick. MUCH MUCH better than the first attempt. But I haven't tasted it yet :hide:. Waiting for my husband to test it. :rotfl

    will post the result soon..

    Dear Chithra Ma'm,
I had an idea of buying small pots for mishti doi & kulfi.Recently we got mishti doi in pot.Thought I'll clean it & keep.I couldnot clean it fully at all.The traces of curd were there even after soaking it in water for 2-3 days. Now seeing your pots with almond phirni I thought I'll ask how do you clean it.
    Love,
    Damini.

Dear Damini, that is the difficulty with these cheap mud pots given in shops for carry-home. You have to soak in liquid soap+hot water & clean it wih a tiny brush! If te traces still persist, do not use it; not hygienic at all.
    Love,
    Chithra.
