Hi All, I am staying in Munich since past 1 week with a 1 year old baby girl. I was feeding her Cerelac while in India, and Nan for formula milk. I want to know what can I use for substituting them. Also, I would like to know some hospital details with doctors speaking english. Latha, I was trying to PM you, but unable to PM. Can you please PM me your contact details...I have soooooo many queries. I want to speak to you to clarify my queries. Thanks a lot in Advance. Vani.
Hi Vani, I know one English speaking Doctor, Dr .Franz...His clinic in OEZ- Shopping Centre. if you want,I will give you more detail about him, since long time back I mooved from there so now I have to search.. I will suggest you to ask doctor before giving your DD New Food. You can get many things here like Cerelac.. You have asked Specially to Latha so I don't know that it's good to give you answer or not...but dear you have to finish 50 Posts to PM somebody.. Best wishes, Ruhi

Thanks a ton Ruhi!! Your reply was so helpful and thanks for the details of the doctor. I found one product called Cinilac from Nestle group itself, so thought that might be a substitute for Cerelec. And so, just thought of checking it with you here. Does the doc in Klinikum Dritter Orden knows English. If not, please give me some detail of Dr Franz. I found IL a home away from home. If you ppl were not there to help me, I would have ran back to my home from here. I have specifically asked Latha because she was helping me so much with my other queries, so I wanted to talk to her directly for clarifying my queries. Vani.
I'm glad that, Info was helpful for you. Most of them speak English..specially Young people. Yeah ,you are right..IL is like our Home..All type of issues ,you can find here.. Enjoy your stay in Munich. :cheers Ruhi..
Hi Vani, Sorry that I checked this thread only today.I don't think i can PM you either until you reach 50 posts. My son's doctor is in Laim, that can be far for you, and speaks understandable english. You might like to check this link for list of english speaking services. English Speaking Services Dritter Orden is a hospital in Munich and their children care unit is very good. Once we took my son for an emergency there. I'm not sure if you can consult a paed in the hospital for regular check-ups. My sincere advice would be to find a doctor near your area and do a general visit. They'll make a book for your baby (that i always carry everywhere) and also if needed update her vaccines. You don't need to wait until the child falls sick to register with a doc. Do you have your insurance card yet? They'll ask for it too. Take along whatever health records you have for the baby. So for the baby food... you could try out any other formula milk available at DM. There is Nestle, Hipp etc., I have always switched between german ones and indian ones (when we went to India) for my son and no problem arose. In place of cerelac you get ready-to-mix cereals again from Nestle (Alete), Alnatura (DM brand). Those are again good to use. Hope I have answered all your queries. Since your baby is one year old do try to find a paed first. Autumn is fast approaching... not to scare you but i know it can be a matter of great stress when you must look out for a doc when the child falls sick. Wanted to add that don't be tempted to buy cerelac from Indian shops. I'm always doubtful of how old the stock could be. Latha
Hi Latha, Thanks a lot for your info!! I will first check for the doc and take my kid for a general checkup. Will again comeback if I have any queries... Vani.
