Sometimes, the shikakai powder may smell sour..I used to avoid those as it may be old stock..But if u find good ones,...well and good u can use it..:thumbsup

Yep you are true , In Indian store they sell old stock. If we get the good Hesh shikakai with lot of exp.date then we can use.

i do have few questions.
green gram dal means pesarlu( we use to make pesarattu). am i right. and coconut do u mean fresh coconut or dry coconut.
is it ok if i dont use coconut and reetha powder. please let me know.

green gram dhal means the one among regular dhals we use in pongal, sweet kanji, pesarattu...green gram seed is without processed one, green in color much bigger than moong dhal..and we use it in salads...i think i have given the correct explanation,,but if it is confusing, and if anybody knows how to explain it correctly, please do so friends..thank you

it is our wish to add or remove anything, so no problem, u can do it whatever u feel so and with whatever u have it at home...u can also use without reetha powder..it is better to use fresh coconut....

Thank u so much for sharing this. I have dandruff itching problems. Can u pl explain how much of green gram and methi seeds to add? Should we soak the seeds in water and add curd, soap nut powder all together? I am confused.

it is ur wish to add the quantity. but see that u use less methi seeds than green gram seeds. for ex: 3:1 ratio..this is just an example..use it as u wish..yes..we can soak the seeds in water, add curd, soap nut powder..if u don't have any ingredient, it is ok..no rules..u can use whatever u have in hand...i wrote this thread b/cos i saw good results.. acc. to me, the yeast in the curd conditions hair. i won't even use shampoo after this pack..hair will be dry..this is one method of escaping from applying shikakai, which is a looooong and boring process of washing hair sometimes..and no harm of shampoo also..

Thanks for sharing your hair pack with us. I am suffering from severe hair loss, I would definitely try this. Can I use dry coconut in this pack or should I be using only fresh coconut??
