    Dear Friends

My pead has suggested to give Oats porridge to my 7 mths old baby. My doubt is when we boil the oats , it is not getting fully smashed . Can we give it like that or do we hve to blend and give .

    Pls advice

Why dont u powder the oats first in the mixer and then add it to the boiling milk. I do the same for my 9mth old boy, i also avoid the sugar and add homemade fruit puree(peaches, apples) to it at the end.

    Hi all,
I have a 6month old baby. I have introduced few veggies to her now + cereal. I havent seen many people recommending sweet potato. Its very healthy and infact a better choice than regular potato.
    Thanks

I have a 8 month old baby going to daycare. His current schedule is

6 am- 6-7 oz of formula milk
    9-9:30 am - cereal+moong dal+veg (carrot/peas)
11:00 am- 6-7 oz of formula milk
    2:00 pm- cereal+applesauce
3:00 pm-6-7 oz of formula milk
7:00 pm- 6-7 oz of formula milk
11:00 pm-6-7 oz of formula milk

Please let me know what I need to change as I want him to start having more solids. He is grabbing our foods, but does not put it in his mouth.

I asked the doc about starting whole milk yoghurt, orange juice or finger foods. I was asked to wait for yoghurt and juice after he is a year old and for finger foods once his teeth comes.
I want to increase his Vitamin C intake esp since he is going to daycare.
Friends, please provide your experience here.

First food for 5 months above babies

    HI

I am sharing a recipe of home made infant food which u can make and store in an air tight jar for a month or two.. this preparation is very gentle on babies tummy as well as very nutritious and tastes great too..... i have been feeding the same to my 5 month old son and found to be very suitable for him.... hope u all would give it a try.... so here are the ingredients.............

    Rice.....................200gms
    Wheat..................1 fist full
    Yellow lentils(TOOR DAL)...............1 fist full
Broken green gram(moong dal).......1 fist full
    Sago rice(saboodana)..................1 fist full
    Whole almonds(badam)................10
    Cummin seeds(jeera)...................1/4teaspoon
    Thymol seeds(ajwain)..................1/4teaspoon
    Ghee

First wash and dry riceon a clean cloth, after rice completely dries dry roast rice slightly ........ then start roasting other ingredients one by one throughly until slight brown colour....... now powder all the ingredients in to fine but slightly course texture in a blender......... u can add salt also but in very less quantity......... store this powder in an air tight jar.

When u have to feed ur baby just take one measure(approx 40gms) or a teaspoon full of this powder add to 150 ml water and bring it to boil while continuously stirring on a low flame........ u can add more water according to the consistency u need...
add 2 drops of ghee and serve Luke warm.
NOTE: Its important that the preparation is cooked well, improper cooking may upset babies digestive system.
