    Hi Ladies!

    Greetings of the Day!

Do you know when is Shraaddha coming????
I remember it is usually held sometime in September or you can say after Ganesh ji Festival.
Shraaddha is the ritual made by hindus performed in all sincerity and faith.
We pay homage to our dead grandParents and ancestors. My Father performed it separately for each parent. This day My mothes use to cook lots of Pakwaan(Dishes) to offer to our ancestors.
By the way my father Honoured pitrs(ancestors) every month on Amaavasya day, He has an opinion that Pitru paksha is even more important than the annual Shraadh of parents. But I do Shraadh of Grandparents.

Please tell me when is Shraaddha ?and how you perform it?

I think you mean Mahalaya Amavasi day that falls during Mahalaya Paksha or Pitru Paksha. Mahalaya Amavasi falls on Sept 28. Regarding actual rituals, it may vary from community to community.

    Hi Namita!
Shraadh is started on 15 september.
Shraadh will be ended on 29 september.
My parents do daan in temple. They cook pakwaan for my dadaji.
They do nothing special on this day simply invite ancestors and do bhog of pakwaans.
This is how they perform shraadh.

    HI SNigdha,

Every hindu follow shraddha. If you want to perform for your parents you can give donation to temples.
Another thing you can do food to poor bramhin family.
Sharaddha is a way of giving respect to our elders, ancestors.By sharddha we can remind them.

So first you take permission of your mother-in-law and perform Shraddha.

    Hi all,

In my family also Shraddha happens.
My falther believes it is funeral rites and funeral offerings for the dead among the Hindus.
During this time we remeber our ancestors and offer pakwaan to them.
    It has its own significance.
