    Hi

Now because of the problems with the airlines , bringing a grinder from India has become very difficult with stringent 20kg allowance . I did check with the cargo , its very much expensive .
    Any ideas anyone please.

    Cheers

    HI Deepa:

The alternative I can think of suggesting is buying a mixie from India instead of a grinder though I know that having used a grinder it can be hard to adjust to using a mixie.

I know of friends here who buy European brand food processors in the UK. But for those of us making dosa / idli batter - nothing comes close to an Indian mixie - my opinion.

    Hope this helps:)

    Hi Sindhu

Thanks for your prompt reply , i think thats the last effort . My family doesnt feed on european breakfast , so i need idly/dosa batter frequently which is difficult with Mixie .
Any way planning to take a preethi mixie with me , hope it works out.

    Cheers

    HI Deepa:

I use a mixie but then I have never used a grinder - so I wouldn't know the difference in the batter:). So if you ask me - mixie will work:).

    Hi Suki:

Sorry I didn't see this earlier.

Well, I don't know if you do get Indian brand food processors in London. But the areas you could check would be East Ham and Southall. Maybe you can get your mixie repaired as well here.

Would suggest checking out Morphy Richards, Philips, Moulinex brands in the local stores there.
