Hello All, Since Ganesh Chathurthi is round the corner (Sep 3rd), I was wondering if any of you are thinking to do the Ganesh idol at home. 2 yrs ago we did it with plaster of paris. We have a mould so we did it but it took us some time to let it dry and color it. Last year my FIL did it with clay mud(actual clay mud). I don't know if I can do it with actual mud...So I brought the play clay dough. Did any of you do with clay dough? If so, can you give me some ideas of how to do it? If you can post some pics that will be great... Thanks
hi last 2 years we (me n my sister) here we get special type of mud which we use . actually we keep a photo or idol in front of us n try to do accordingly. we try to decorate them which covers the flaws we do but we do it from base like legs in sitting position next stomach like that we r not expert but for children entusiasm n environment we do that bye aparna
Hi I had never done Ganesha with mud , but my roomie used to do with turmeric , mix turmeric with water like dough and made ganesha .It was really cute .I dont have the picture to post it THanks Hima

I like Tanjore painting very much for making the picture of GOd and Goddess.Many designs are available online. Please share the method of Making Lord Ganesh Idol with the help of clay.I will try it.
Thats wonderful to make Ganesha with our own hand. we will be really happy if we make Ganesha by ourselves and do pooja for the same Ganesha. I can understand thats a beautiful feeling. If you know, please share the wonderful thing. I'll also try it. Great!
