Dear ladies I am not sure if this is the forum to post or not. This is for my friends child . Friend wants to get an OBC Certificate for the child For education purpose. His wife is not working and he has an Annual salary of 12 lakhs. For OBC non creamy layer it has to be below 8 lakhs for people working in India. Will that be a problem for NRI’s? In some websites its said that an income certificate from the bank should be submitted. What I am asking is , is there a limit for NRI salary also for considering as non creamy layer.
NRI income is simply converted to ₹ for the purpose of OBC certification. Foreign banks will also give certificate of direct-recurring-deposit of salary/wage income. Companies (employers) will also give such a certificate. This is often required for renting flats in the city/country the NRI is trying to setup a home. There is no separate income scale for NRI that separates Creamy from non-C.
eh ? There are plenty of labourers in the gulf countries whose incomes would get them below the limit to classify them as Non-C-OBC. And many (if not pretty much all) of them had left their families in India. Their children could use whatever leg-up help the system offers. Unfortunately the actual OBC certificate does not mention how far from Creamy the certified non-Creamy OBC person is. The competition among the non-C-OBC for the available slots allocated for the children in their group is quite severe. Many get creamed in the stampede for those few slots.
