Yes desichica, same title as the movie. Here'sthe reason, courtesy wikia.

Both the book and motion picture were released in the United States under the name Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, because the publishers were concerned that most Americans were not familiar enough with the term "Philosopher's Stone" to gain the correct impression from the title. The decision was made to choose a title that was "more suggestive of magic", the naming of "Sorcerer's Stone" used with J. K. Rowling's endorsement after the contemplation of several possibilities.

Same thoughts here Kishw, I also didn't get "the prodigal son". Can someone who has read her columns throw some light on this if you know?

I was reading one of her interviews, and i think this might answer it.

"Why do you call your son ‘the prodigal son’? Does your son know about the mythical parable and what ishis opinion about your reference?Actually, it was just a literary device to refer to him as the prodigal son. He reads most of my columns and these things don’t bother him at all. In fact, I think he is rather chuffed with it all."

Honestly, an author should explain such quotation in her/his book at some point. To me, this sounds as the word is thrown into the book because it sounds cool.

Thank you @desichica, I wonder what boy would have to say, in a couple of years when the tag still follows him . And thank goodness it wasn't "Amul baby" or something similar :rotfl
