Need info on Road Test!

Hi all,

I recently moved to West Windsor, but my work place is in Edison.

I just cleared my written test. I have a Indian driving license, but they refused to give me a license without road test.

My test is scheduled in kilmer, as I thought it was closer to my place. But reading few old threads, it looks like kilmer road test is lil more difficult?? Can someone let me know how the tests are conducted there or any other center which will be easier to do so that I can reschedule? TIA!

PS: For those wondering why my Indian license was not accepted, my colleague who had a Bangalore license was accepted. But I had a TN license which was not accepted. They have some book which has some license patterns for each country and check if ours is there. Bad luck for me!

In Edison, roadtest is on live traffic whereas in Rahway its inside dmv center.

Hi,

I m from India and I possess International driving permit with my driving license. I live in Edison. People say that if we have IDP, its easy to get nj driving license, but when mailed to dmv@edison, they said, we need to go thru both the written and road tests. My IDP expires in May. Does anyone gone thru my situation, pls share ur experience here.

you can go to lodi MVC , they will give you lic with out road test.

Usually , In rahway you can get license with just written test and Indian license but in Kilmer road it depends on the person in the dmv.( I had TN license too and i got from rahway dmv w/o road test).
Since you said you live in West windsor , you can go to quaker bridge dmv, where you can get license without road test .(My friend got from quaker bridge last year ).
