    Hi Ladies,

I am 24 weeks and during the usual scans they found out that i have low lying placenta. They are going to monitor me and see if that moves up. Anybody here with low lying placenta? Did Docs give you any spl instructions? Mine didnt give any.

Dear Ladies, I hope everything is going fine with all of you. We have been
very inactive for the past few weeks I guess. It would be interesting to see
    more activity in our club.

I am completing second trimester today. I think most of you would also have
started third trimester. We have crossed 2/3 rd of our journey successfully
    :)

My next ultrasound will be only after 33 weeks and I am so looking forward
to see the baby. Baby must have grown really big compared to the 20 weeks
scan. My tummy is also growing bigger day by day. When I got pregnant, I
aimed to gain a total of 12Kg during the entire pregnancy since I was
already about 12kg overweight. But I have already gained more than that.
Usually they say that weight gain will be at its peak during third trimester
and I am worried that I might end up gaining a lot more. It will be a very tough road
ahead for my weight loss journey post pregnancy. How do you ladies manage?

I had the Gestational Diabetes check yesterday. I was very confident that I
wouldnt have it since I always have had my sugar level in the lower end of
the normal range. But I was worng. My one hour reading is 208 (anything
above 135 is a concern). Me and my DH were very shocked and upset. I hope I
will be able to manage the sugar levels through diet and dont need insulin
shots. May be because of this I have been gaining more weight. But then I am
happy as long as the baby is doing good inside.

Do any of you have GD? If yes, could you share your diet plan with me? It
would be very helpful for me. I havent yet finalized a diet plan. I am
having an appointment on Aug 5th with the special dietician.

I also have one more question. I am really not sure if I am taking enough
protein daily. When I roughly calculate the protein intake from my diet, it
is much less than what they say is required in third trimester. But I am not
convinced in taking protein supplements. I am sure neither our mothers nor
grandmothers took any protein supplement and ended up delivering healthy
babies. I am really confused what to do as baby has been doing well in fact
a week ahead in terms of growth in my previous ultrasounds. I just want to
make sure I am not overdoing anything especially when it comes to dietary
supplements. I would like to hear your opinion on this.

Have you guys planned your baby shower yet? For those abroad, are your
parents visiting you or are you planning to go to India for delivery? I will
tell my side of story later. Would be another big post :)

That’s it for now. Take care!! Expecting to see this group active again :)

@reachsmith - If the pain is unbearable, it is better to check with your doctor. Sorry I couldnt help you with this. I am not aware of any home remedies for back pain. Usually hot water shower/tub should help. But you cant increase your body temperature by bathing in hot water for long during pregnancy.
